Reviews Data Update (June 2026)

Learn about changes to Reviews data coverage

As part of ongoing efforts to improve data accuracy, we are making an update to a subset of Reviews coverage in Brandwatch Consumer Research following changes to the API of one of our data providers.

Overview of the change

From June 17, 2026, you may notice lower review volumes across the platform. This change affects a subset of Reviews data and improves data accuracy going forward by removing duplicated mentions from daily counts.

Impact of the change

This update will impact you if you include the Reviews data source in your Consumer Research queries. From June 17, 2026, lower review volumes may be visible across queries, dashboards, and data downloads where Reviews data is included.

This update will significantly improve how review activity is counted. Previously, duplicate mentions could inflate daily volume figures. With this update, daily counts will reflect the newly collected review content more accurately.

Note: This change only applies to mentions going forward and does not impact the historical data.

Recommended next steps

If you use Reviews data in queries, dashboards, or downloads, please be aware that review volume trends may look different from June 17, 2026 onward. This change should be understood as a data quality improvement rather than a reduction in review coverage.

If your teams regularly report on review volumes over time, we recommend noting this update in any analysis comparing results before and after the change.
